Two more Strategy decks — Literacy & Numeracy, and NCAD Forge
The Strategies collection grows from one deck to three. Improving Literacy & Numeracy in Working Adults makes the grant case that the two skills most tightly tied to wages and promotions can be lifted — and measured — inside the Apprenticeship Degree. NCAD Forge proposes a shared, cross-member agentic product lab where apprenticeship domain experts build the software the degree actually needs. Both are web-researched Scroll-UI drafts built on the token-driven deck-primitives system, so light/dark/vibrant work without per-element variant classes, and both are framed for grant-seeking philanthropy rather than a fundraise.
Two more Strategy decks — and the collection comes alive
Why Care?
A week ago the strategies collection was an empty menu waiting on its first
deck. It now holds three, and /strategies lists them as cards that each
open the full deck. The two added today both follow the same loop: an
LLM-assisted narrative authored in context-v/narratives/strategies/<name>/,
then designed into a Scroll-UI deck on the shared design system.
Improving Literacy & Numeracy in Working Adults is the one most directly tied to Reach's mission outcomes. NCAD Forge is a curveball — an operating proposal rather than a mobility case — showing the collection can hold different shapes of strategy.
What's New?
Improving Literacy & Numeracy in Working Adults (/scroll/literacy-numeracy/ln-v1)
— ten slides arguing that literacy and numeracy independently predict wages and
promotions, even controlling for education; that most working adults sit below
proficiency; that a degree can certify without lifting the basics; that the
pedagogy to fix this is finally ready (the science of reading reaching adult
education, plus contextualized numeracy); and that embedding it in the
Apprenticeship Degree and measuring the gain turns the degree into a capability
guarantee. Evidence from PIAAC / Hanushek et al., all figures flagged for
verification.
NCAD Forge (/scroll/agentic-product-lab/forge-v1) — ten slides making the
case that the Apprenticeship Degree runs on a different software stack than
campuses or online programs; that "vibe coding" moved prototyping from
engineering teams to domain experts; and that apprenticeship/adult-education
experts across NCAD's member network can now prototype that stack themselves,
with engineers hardening what proves out. Includes a voice-first angle for
assessment and evidence capture — speech-to-text and text-to-speech for teachers
and nurses who are on the go, mid-shift, with little time to write.
Both are built on deck-primitives.css (token-driven, three-mode) and use
grant-seeking / philanthropy language throughout — no investment framing; the
only "raise" is a worker's wage raise.
What's Next?
More strategies are queued as draft narratives (e.g. Agent Workflow Maxxing —
agent workflows for travel, events, and the grant pipeline). Each becomes a deck
on the same system. Before any of these go in front of funders, the
VERIFY-flagged figures need confirming against primary sources.
