Critical Issues Identified:

Pypdf Installation Issue:
- Despite installing pypdf with uv pip install pypdf, the Python environment doesn't have access
- Deck analysis was skipped entirely
- Need to verify package installation in correct environment
Template Selection Bug:
- Validator's CRITICAL feedback: "This is an LP commitment memo (fund investment), not a company investment memo. Wrong template applied."
- Memo has sections like "Technology & Product", "Traction", "Market Context" (direct template sections)
- Should have had "Fund Terms", "Portfolio Construction", "GP Track Record" (fund template sections)
- ROOT CAUSE: Writer agent may not be correctly loading fund template based on investment_type parameter
Validation Feedback Quality:
- Validator provided excellent, detailed feedback (18 specific issues, 18 specific improvements)
- Correctly identified structural mismatch, missing fund metrics, promotional tone
- Demonstrates validator agent is working exceptionally well

Date Inference Issue
- Problem: Claude inferring "November 2024" instead of actual current date
- Root cause: Writer agent not explicitly told current date
- Solution: Extract datetime.now() and pass in prompt with "IMPORTANT: Today's date is..."
- Learning: Don't rely on model inference for factual data - always provide explicitly
Citation Spacing for Markdown Compatibility
- Problem: User's Markdown editor couldn't render text[^1] (no space before bracket)
- Required format: text [^1] (inline) but [^1]: citation (reference list)
- Solution: Added CRITICAL formatting rules to citation enrichment system prompt
- Learning: Small formatting details matter for downstream tool compatibility
Deck Path Resolution
- Problem: Deck paths in JSON can be relative or absolute
- Solution: Check if path is absolute, otherwise resolve relative to data directory
